How To Screenshot On Mac

There are several ways to take a screenshot on a Mac:

  1. The simplest way is to press Command + Shift + 3. This will take a screenshot of the entire screen and save it to the desktop.

  2. To take a screenshot of a specific area, press Command + Shift + 4. This will change the cursor to crosshairs. Click and drag the crosshairs to select the area you want to capture, and then release the mouse button to take the screenshot.

  3. To take a screenshot of a specific window, press Command + Shift + 4, and then press the Spacebar. This will change the cursor to a camera. Hover the camera over the window you want to capture, and then click to take the screenshot.
  4. To copy the screenshot to the clipboard instead of saving it to the desktop, press Control + Command + Shift + 3 or Control + Command + Shift + 4
  5. You can also use the built-in Grab application, it's located in the Applications > Utilities folder. You can use it to take a screenshot of a specific window or a selected area.

Note: All the screenshots will be saved as PNG files on your desktop by default, but you can change the format to JPG or other format using the Preview app or other image editing software.
