Samsung has recently launched the Galaxy S23 Ultra, featuring significant upgrades to its primary camera and a higher-resolution selfie camera. However, it appears that the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung's next-generation flagship phone, may not bring any major improvements to its camera system.
According to a report from @UniverseIce, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is said to utilize the same 200MP ISOCELL HP2 camera sensor for its primary camera. Additionally, it is rumored to retain the 12MP Sony IMX754 sensor for the telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and the 12MP Sony IMX564 sensor for the ultrawide camera.
The only camera sensor that is expected to see an upgrade is the telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom, which will reportedly use a slightly improved 12MP Sony IMX754+ sensor.
If these reports are accurate, the main improvement we can expect from the Galaxy S24 Ultra's camera system would be in the performance of the 10x zoom. Other enhancements to camera quality would likely come through software and processing improvements.
No information has been disclosed about the camera specifications of the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+ at this time. However, if the Galaxy S24 Ultra does not bring significant camera improvements, it is possible that the other models in the Galaxy S24 lineup might follow suit.
In terms of processing power, the Galaxy S24 series is expected to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in Asia and North America. In Europe, Samsung may introduce variants of the phones powered by the Exynos 2400 chip.
Both of these chips are anticipated to feature ARM's latest CPU cores. The Exynos 2400 is also expected to deliver four times the GPU performance compared to the Exynos 2200. More details regarding these devices are expected to be revealed by the end of this year.
